ITC Celebrates its 38th Anniversary with Several Features

The Infantry Training Center (ITC) at Minneriya celebrated its 38th anniversary on 25th August by conducting several programmes as per directions of the ITC Commandant.

As the first event, Brigadier Chandana Ranaweera, Commandant ITC with All Ranks joined a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama and offered alms to the monks at Somavathiya temple. Afterwards, another Pooja was conducted at the Minneriya Devalaya where blessings were invoked on all troops of the ITC.

A formal troop address, given by the Commandant after a while paved the way for him to plant a sapling inside the camp premises.

Later on, on Anniversary Day, a blood donation programme was conducted at Polonnaruwa General Hospital. 90 troops of the ITC including officers and other ranks voluntarily donated blood for the benefit of the patients in the Polonnaruwa hospital.
