The ‘Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare Course No 30’ (CIJW) of the Army Training School (ATS) at Maduruoya qualified one more group of 28 Officers including foreigners and sister services who underwent training for three months.
The formal closing ceremony on Monday (1) at the ATS - Maduruoya, attended by the overlooking Commandant, Army Training School, Colonel Kumara Ranathungamage as the Chief Guest saw all 28 Course attendees receive certificates of proficiency at the end of the occasion. The course began on 25 April 2022.
Those 28 course officers included 2 Bangladesh Army Officers, 2 Sri Lanka Navy Officers, 2 Sri Lanka Air Force Officers and Officers of more than 10 Regiments. The Course curriculum focused on Foundation module for insurgency, Doctrine for Operations, Insurgency and terrorism, internal security, Counterinsurgency operations and jungle warfare operations and a few practical assignments.
Captain H.G.R.D Wijewardana of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was adjudged the first in order of merits in the Course.
