Launching one more community-oriented project with sponsorship, provided by Talagala Sri Siddahrtha Foundation of Ven Talagala Sumanaratana Thero and Kalutara Shasanaraksha Balamandalaya, 12 Division troops under command to the Security Force HQ- Central distributed dry ration packs to 200 needy families after inviting them to the Moneragala Public Library on 17 June.
The project, meant to ease economic difficulties of poverty-stricken people in this remote area was initiated by Major General Lanka Amarapala, General Officer Commanding 12 Division together with the 121 Brigade Commander and few government officials.
Representatives of the donors, Senior Army Officers, Other Ranks and Government officials took part in the distribution.
