Major General Mahinda Jayawardena during a simple ceremony assumed office as 13th Chief Field Engineer (CFE) of the Army at the Army Headquarters on 11 June 2022.
On arrival at the office, the new CFE signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office amid religious observances.
Prior to this new appointment, he served as General Officer Commanding of Engineers Divition.
He succeeded Major General Channa Wijayasundara who has now been appointed the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna.
Staff Officers and Other Ranks of the Chief Field Engineer's office attended the event.
