The Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment HQ on Friday (3) in a joint farewell ceremony extended best wishes to retiring Major General Ajith Dissanayake, Major General Ajith Kolambathantri and Major General Wanditha Mahinkanda.
All those three Senior Officers who served the Sri Lanka Army in an exemplary manner for more than 34 years held various key offices and received promotions as Major Generals.
Commencement of the ceremony prioritized the salute to the fallen War Heroes at the monument of the Regimental HQ where floral wreaths were laid in their memory by all three SLA veterans. A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour were awarded to retiring Major Generals by the troops in separate ceremonies before those Senior Officers were invited to refreshments at the Sergeants’ Mess.
The days’ farewell ceremony concluded after a formal dinner was offered to the outgoing three Major Generals. Major General Upali Gunasekara (Retd) also joined the occasion as a special guest during the arrangement.
