Financial assistance provided by Sri Lankan businessmen in Canada enabled Major General Samantha Silva, Commander, Security Forces -Central to distribute dry ration packs among the needy, resident inside the Kreg Estate in Poonagala, Bandarawela after their miserable plight was brought to the notice of the Security Forces.
5000.00, inclusive of Keeri Samba Rice, Big Onions, Dhal, Salt, Chili Powder, Garlic, tinned fish and Soya Meat packets distributed among the poor under this project on 26 May. It was organized jointly by 12 Division and Security Force HQ troops after inviting them to the Estate's office area.
Major General Samantha Silva, Commander, Security Forces -Central, Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters -Central, all other Officers and Other Ranks as well as the Superintendent of the Kreg Estate in Poonagala joined the distribution.
