Troops of the 541 Brigade of the 54 Division in response to a request of the hospital authorities held a blood donation campaign inside the Mathota Rajamaha Viharaya in Mannar on Tuesday (10).
A total of 63 Army personnel of the 541 Brigade volunteered to donate blood during this arrangement as per guidelines given by General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Major General Dharshana Wijesekara and under the supervision of Commander, 541 Brigade, Brigadier Dasantha Munasinghe.
Troops of the 54 Division, 541 Brigade, 12(V) Sri Lanka Artillery and 10(V) Gemunu Watch came forward to give their blood for the project.
541 Brigade Commander, Civil Affairs Officer, 54 Division, Commanding Officers of 12 SLA and 10 GW, Other Ranks, medical officers and nursing staff attended the community project. The monk at the temple gave the maximum support to the project.
