A street-line salute plus a Guard Turnout bade farewell to the outgoing Commander, Security Forces - West, Major General Kithsiri Liyanage at the Security Force Headquarters - West at Panagoda on Sunday (1) in line with military formalities.
Afterwards, Major General Liyanage spoke to the troops and lavishly thanked All Ranks for the excellent support, extended to him during his tenure as the West Commander. After an All Rank tea, he was awarded a symbolic memento in order to appreciate his role as the West Commander.
Towards the end of the day’s proceedings, Major General Kithsiri Liyanage left the SFHQ-West premises amidst a street-line greeting after best wishes of all serving at the SFHQ-West premises.
General Officer Commanding, 14 Division Major General Samantha Wickramasena, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers of affiliated Battalions, Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters - West participated at the day’s farewell ceremony.
