Central Commander Makes Formal Visit to SLMA

The newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces Major General Ranjan Lamahewage made his formal visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on 05th March upon the invitation of the Commandant, SLMA, Major General Krishantha Gnanaratne.

Upon his arrival, the Commander was cordially welcomed by the Commandant and other senior officers of the SLMA before he was accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout before the customary wreath-laying to salute the memory of fallen ones took place at the Monument of Peace. He visited ‘A’ Guardroom, Visitors' Reception Center, Colour Chamber, Company Offices, Smart Classroom Complex, Computer Lab, Language Lab, Library and the Gymnasium in the compound during his stay.

In his address to officers, officer cadets and NCOs at the Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium, the Commander greatly appreciated the distinguished service of the Military Academy and underscored the qualitative enhancement of human resources, discipline, self-discipline, exemplary behavior, dedication to service, etc. Meanwhile, the briefings by Wing Heads and a video documentary updated the Chief Guest’s understanding about the Academy.
