Major General Swarna Bothota assumed duties as the new Commandant of the Officer Career Development Centre (OCDC) at Buttala on Thursday (4) during a simple ceremony amidst greetings and best wishes.
The new Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout with military formalities to mark his arrival officially to the premises and was warmly received and welcomed by the Acting Deputy Commandant and the Chief Instructor with other Senior Officers. Subsequently, the formal procedure of assuming duties with the signing of documents at the auspicious minute marked the acceptance of his new office amidst religious observances.
Soon after assuming duties, the Commandant planted a mango sapling in the HQ premises. Then, he addressed the troops at the Main Auditorium and posed for a group photograph with all officers of the Permanent Staff.
