As of this morning (7), a total of 376 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 16 Sri Lankan expatriates and 360 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 83 from Gampaha district, 55 from Rathnapura district, 49 from Colombo district and 173 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (7), a total of 85,335 persons, inclusive of 81,598 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 81,768 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 3,070 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 497 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. Four more deaths have been reported from Dodangoda. Colombo 9, Battaramulla and Kolonnawa areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 497 by this morning (7).
