Majority of Infectees Still From Colombo-NOCPCO

As of this morning (12), a total of 942 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 3 Sri Lankan expatriates and 939 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 273 from Colombo district, 181 from Gampaha district, 102 from Kandy district and 383 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (12), a total of 73,115 persons, inclusive of 69,599 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 66,210 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,526 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 567 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 4 more deaths have been reported from Udathalavinna, Kotahena, Colombo 5 and Colombo 13 areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 379 by this morning (12).
