As of this morning (3), a total of 515 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, were 13 Sri Lankan expatriates and other 502 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 144 from Gampaha district, 96 from Kandy district, 47 from Colombo district and other 215 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (3), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 40,606. Meanwhile, 33,959 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (37,547) and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
By this morning (3), a total of 44,370 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 36,716 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,443 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
By this morning (3), 562 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 03 more deaths have been reported from Colombo 13, Maradana and Alaiadiwembu areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 211 by this morning (3).
By this morning (3), the flight UL 104 from the Maldives with 43 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 16 passengers, the flight UL 607 from Australia with 10 passengers, the flight UL 455 from Japan with 50 passengers, the flight UL 226 from the UAE with 60 passengers and the flight UL 605 from Australia with 2 passengers have arrived.
The flight EK 650 from UAE with 90 passengers, the flight TST 9110 from UK with 50 passengers, the flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 1 passenger, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 10 passengers, the flight UL 303 from Singapore with 50 passengers, the flight UL 230 from Kuwait with 199 passengers and the flight UL 510 from Kuwait with 170 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all are/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
