45 selected students in Kattakaragaukuduiruppu Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School in the general area of Pesalei were gifted school books including other essential items, such as shoes, school bags, first- aid kits and some sports items needed for the academic year 2021, thanks to the sponsorship, worth about Rs 3 lakhs, provided by Miss Rosie Thuring, a social worker who resides in Colombo and is engaged in charity projects.
A brief ceremony, organized by 11 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) troops in the school premises, was attended by the Brigadier Anuradha Seneviratna Commander, 543 Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 11 Battalion of Sri Lanka Artillery, together with parents and beneficiaries.
