Major General Chula Abenayake’s Services Appreciated

One of the proud soldiers-produced by Gemunu Watch (GW), Major General Chula Abeynayake, Colonel Commandant of Gemunu Watch and Commander, Security Forces West on the eve of his retirement from the Army was invited by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva to his office at the AHQ on Monday (7) where the latter commended his dedicated services to the Army for more than three decades.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva during the brief interaction recalled memories and shared a few thoughts with the retiring Major General Chula Abeynayake who has served a number of key appointments in the Army and the Gemunu Watch in particular.

The outgoing Senior Officer also thanked the Commander of the Army for his wishes and the thoughtfulness while mentioning about the encouragement he received from the Army Chief in the performance of his duties. Towards the end of the interaction, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva awarded a special memento to the retiree as a symbol of appreciation and commendation.
