The annual Athletic Meet of the 53 Division, which was organized by the 532 Brigade, got underway at the Gajaba Regimental Centre grounds, Saliyapura, Anuradhapura during March 2 - 3.
Athletes representing all Brigades, battalions of the 53 Division and the Air Mobile Brigade Training School took part in the event.
Major General M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 53 Division graced the final day of the Athletic Meet as the Chief Guest by awarding certificates and other merit awards.
4 Gemunu Watch emerged as the Champions in the tournament while 1 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment became the runners-up.
The 532 Brigade was adjudged as the outstanding Brigade of the Meet. Private S.A.D.C Dewantha of 5 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was selected as the best athlete in the tournament.
