Certificate awarding ceremony for the best Battalion and the best Brigade of the Security Forces Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ-W) which followed the ‘5s’ concept within their premises after it was introduced to the SFHQ-W formations by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W, was held at the SFHQ-W auditorium on Feb 7.
561 Brigade was awarded the Championship-2014, being the best among fourteen Brigades under the SFHQ-W. Brigade Commander 561 Brigade, Colonal S.B Weerasooriya accompanied by the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) received cash to the value of Rs 1 lakh.
Defeating 41 Battalions, 26 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment Battalions qualified to win the championship in Brigade category.
The Commanding Officer of 26 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment Lieutenant Colonel G.A.D.K.G Ganegoda accompanied by RSM Warrant Officer I K.G Ajith Priyanka received their cash prizes from the Commander Security Force Headquarters, Wanni.
