Director General Infantry at the Army Headquarters Major General L.W.C.B.B Rajaguru inspected several Infantry Battalion training sessions in Welioya and Alampil areas on Wednesday (11) in order to ensure their year’s training programme is intact.
During the past one year, a total of 135 Battalions successfully completed training in 22 Battalion Training Schools where Major General Rajaguru addressed the troops, highlighting the importance of Battalion training and battle readiness as members of the armed forces.
In the years 2015-2016, Special Forces has been entrusted the training after enhancing the number of days for each session. The new plan is to enable the Battalion to regroup for their operational, administrative and logistic requirements before and after those training sessions.
