Best Quality 'Free Issue' Packs Distributed among SFHQ-C Army Personnel

A simple ceremony at the auditorium of the Volunteer Force Training School, Diyatalawa on Tuesday (10) morning saw a representative gathering of Army personnel receive ‘free issue’ packs of clothes and essentials, needed in the discharge of their duties at the SFHQ-C.

Major General Mano Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C), distributed 45 packs of free issues symbolically during the event and the rest were to be distributed afterwards.

The representative group was selected from all Brigades, Divisions, Training schools and Battalions and the packs contained two uniform sets (combat and regular), two T-shirts, two pairs of socks, a towel, pair of boots, one No 6 uniform set and a short trouser of the best quality.

Major General Mano Perera, in a brief address to the occasion mentioned that a special care was taken this year to get the materials of the highest quality considering the durability and the wear of those usables.

This was initiated on a conceptual notion, proposed by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake. Earlier, the Commander himself inaugurated the distribution during a separate ceremony.
