The newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 56 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) Brigadier D.M.W.W.W.M.R.B.M Daulagala, assumed duties at his office on Wednesday (28) after a formal ceremony.
A brief religious ceremony, headed by Ven. Ananda Thero at Madukanda Temple invoked blessings on the new office.
Meanwhile, Brigadier W.A Wanniarachchi assumed office as the 6th GOC in the 61 Division of the SFHQ-W on the same day at his office during a simple ceremony.
A formal Guard Turnout greeted Brigadier Wanniarachchi upon his arrival at the 61 Division Headquarters premises in keeping with military traditions.
The Maha Sangha invoked blessings on the new office after ‘Seth Pirith’ chanting.
