New State Minister for Defence Visits Mihindu Seth Medura Dependent War Heroes

Minister of State for Defence, Mr Ruwan Wijewardene in order to be familiar with rehabilitation centres where dependent War Heroes are housed, went to Attidiya-based Mihindu Seth Medura, together with a few MoD officials on Wednesday (21) evening.

During his stay at the healing house, he freely spoke to the inmates and received a firsthand account of the roles and tasks from the management of the Mihindu Seth Medura before he met with those War Heroes.

An inmate received the Minister on arrival at the premises with a sheaf of betel. Afterwards the Minister saw the Physiotherapy Unit, Emergency Treatment Unit and a few rooms of the inmates with enthusiasm.

During his stay there, he also saw several handicrafts produced by those inmates and made inquiries into their different aesthetic skills.

Showing his concern for them, Minister Wijewardene shared a cup of tea with the inmates at the dining hall. Before his departure the Minister was presented a painting crafted by an inmate as a token of his goodwill. He also did not fail to leave his signature in the Visitors’ Book at the Rehabilitation Centre.

Commandant, Mihindu Seth Medura and senior officers were present there.
