The newly- built state-of-the-art Non Commissioned Officers’ (NCOs) mess hall at 54 Division premises in Mannar saw its ceremonial opening on Thursday (11) at a brief ceremony, headed by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters- Wanni (SFHQ-W).
The two-storeyed mess building, equipped with a cafeteria, a library, a saloon plus accommodation quarters for NCOs was constructed, using modern technology by nearly spending Rs. 4.6 million.
The Commander, SFHQ-W after inauguration requested all those present to consider this building as a model for NCOs mess in other Divisions as well.
Major General Perera took time off to inspect several ongoing construction projects and the upcoming Volleyball Court in the 54 Division.
General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, officers and other ranks of 54 Division participated in all the arrangements.
