Air Chief of Pakistan Calls on Army Commander


Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Air Chief of the Pakistan Air Force, presently in Sri Lanka on a three-day long goodwill visit, called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the Army Headquarters Thursday (28) afternoon.

Major General S.W.L Daulugala, Colonel Commandant, Gajaba Regiment (GR) and Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force received the visiting Pakistan Air Force Chief.

A Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour, presented by GR troops, saluted the visiting Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on arrival at the MoD ground, next to the northern gate at the Army Headquarters before he was conducted to the Commander’s Secretariat.

At the entrance to the Commander’s Secretariat, he was warmly received by the Commander of the Army. The visiting Pakistan Air Chief was afterwards introduced to his Principal Staff Officers.

Talks that followed at the Commander’s office largely centered on bilateral cooperation and matters of mutual interest to both organizations. Two other Pakistan military officers were also associated with the brief meeting.

The visiting Pakistan Air Chief left his signature in the VIP book afterwards as the Commander of the Army looked on. An exchange of mementos that took place, ended the programme.
