The swimming event in the forthcoming Army Para Games - 2014, held at Panagoda Swimming Pool Complex on Wednesday (30) made Gajaba Regiment (GR) competitors to claim the championship in the tournament.Categorized on the percentage of the disability, these competitors vied in the 50 m & 100 m free style and 4 x 50 m swimming. GR swimmers scored 146 marks against 137 marks, recorded by Gemunu Watch (GW) swimmers who were adjudged the runners-up.
On the final day Major General W.D.L.P Wickramasinghe as the Chief Guest gave away medals and certificates to the achievers.
Several senior officers were associated during the event.
