With the support of civilians and different organizations, the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) launched many eco-friendly environmental projects to coincide with the World Nature Conservation Day on July 28.
Members of the Army cleaned up beach areas and land removing plastic and polythene pollutants, together with members of the public and conducted tree planting drives across the peninsula.
Similarly, the 523 Brigade at Kachchai conducted a programme to plant herbal saplings in the Kaithadi Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital premises on Monday (28).
Several senior officers and Ayurvedic Hospital Director attended those programmes.
