The Goodness Foundation (Guna Nena Jaya Sathuta Padanama) came forward to provide a 1000 liter water tank for the benefit of a disable son of a former combatant in Vivekananda Nagar in Kilinochchi on Friday (23).
At the request of the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), the water tank, a much-needed requirement for use to the family of Amavas Madiwadan, a rehabilitated combatant who has a totally dependent son at home who needs 24 hour vigil.
A large quantity of water is needed for sanitary facilities of this dependent child on a daily basis but lack of water storage facilities remain a major setback to the wellbeing of the disable child, which has been brought to the notice of the civil coordination officer of the SFHQ-KLN.
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN after taking an initiative in this regard informed ‘Guna Nena Jaya Sathuta Padanama’ of the requirement, considering the plight of the family which has two sons.
Chairperson, ‘Guna Nena Jaya Sathuta Padanama’ readily obliged and provided the water tank to the family with the coordination of the SFHQ-KLN civil coordination office.
On Friday (23), ‘Guna Nena Jaya Sathuta Padanama’ chairperson, civil coordination officer and several others went to Madiwadan’s home and gifted it to the family.
