Final Arrangements for 'Abimansala 3' Grand Opening Assessed


Just four days prior to the grand opening of the newest ‘Abimansala 3’ wellness resort for dependent War Heroes of the North Western Province, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army with a view to having a close assessment of the project and fine-tuning final arrangements for Friday’s opening, inspected the site on Monday (21).

Accompanied by several senior officers, including Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Adjutant General and Major General Mano Perera, Director General Rehabilitation, the Commander had a close look at all the sections in the compound and shared a couple of views with those engaged in giving final touches to the project.

Afterwards, a brief conference, chaired by Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake took up arrangements in regard to the scheduled opening ceremony where the Commander wanted certain minor changes in view of the time factor and other constraints.

The ‘Abimansala 3’ at Pangolla, Kurunegala lying in a landmass of 10 acres is to house 50 more dependent War Heroes, resident in the North Western Province for lifetime care and rehabilitation. The location, rich with bio-diversity and facing Pathalagoda lake, bordering the banks of Deduru Oya, provides a soothing and panoramic view that brings mental peace and solace.

Abimansala 3’ well-equipped with all therapeutic needs of those dependent War Heroes is to be manned 24 hours with medical facilities on hand. A mini hospital, physiotherapy unit, swimming pool, gymnasium, Ayurvedic centre, hydrotherapy unit, recreation centre, entertainment hall, facilities for family members including short-term visits, are among the major features in this complex.
