Troops of the Task Force - 3 serving under the Security Forces Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) in commemoration of the Boxing Day Tsunami tragedy in 2004, held a blood donation campaign in order to collect blood for the patients at Akkaraipattu Hospital.
The campaign, held at Thambuluvil School in Thirukkovil received the support of the members of the ‘Rangers Club’ at Thirukkovil. In addition to the troops, members of the civil staff serving the Task Force - 3 also offered their blood to the hospital during the mobile clinic at the school.
Meanwhile, 3 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (3VIR) under Task Force - 3 offered lunch to the inmates at Sri Ganesha Elders’ Home at Thirukkovil on December (28) to coincide with the remembrance of Tsunami tragedy.
