A musical fiesta staged by Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Seva Vanitha Unit with the intention of raising funds for those SLAC War Heroes either killed in action or received injuries was held recently at Bishop College auditorium.
Former Commander of the Army General R. De S. Daluwatte (Retd) attended the occasion as the Chief Guest at the invitation of both Commander of the Army and Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) and Chairperson of the SLAC Seva Vanitha Unit.
The event coloured by popular artists and vocalists like Anesley Malewana, Anil Bharati, Dharmarathne brothers, Paul Perera, Indrani Perera, Errol Fernando, Shyami Fonseka, Priya Peiris, Christine Gunawardana and Mariyazel Gunathilaka lasted nearly for three hours to a packed audience.
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya received the Chief Guest on his arrival at the venue. Proceeds of the show will be used for the welfare of affected War Heroes and their families.
