Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), aimed at encouraging coconut cultivation in Pattanayankattu village area took steps to distribute more than 2250 coconut saplings among households.
On the directions of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, the distribution took place on Wednesday (5) in the presence of a large gathering of civilians, state officials and senior officers.
Meanwhile, the same SFHQ-KLN with the objective of supporting the livelihood of the fisher folk in Iranamadu tank area provided 5 fishing trawlers, 20 nets and a stock of equipment during a brief ceremony on Thursday (6).
District Secretary for Kilinochchi, Commander SFHQ-KLN, 57 and 65 Divisions General Officers Commanding, members of different fishing societies and villagers attended the occasion.
Sponsorship for the distribution was made possible through grants of the Ministry of Fisheries and the District Secretariat for Kilinochchi.
