To coincide with the government’s National Tree Planting Day (Nov 15), the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya planted a tree sapling inside the Army Headquarters premises in a symbolic gesture Thursday (15) morning.
The main Army ceremony in this connection is scheduled to take place at Vavuniya Manik Farm premises on Friday (16) covering an area of five acres.
