A joined Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival with the support of all troops serving 522 Brigade area under 52 Division brought a sound interaction between the civilians and Security Forces when all of them gathered at Kodikamam, Thirunakarusu school grounds.
The day’s event, an attempt to further promote harmony and peaceful co-existence among all communities in Kodikamam area included a variety of both traditional and modern games and fun-making events such as bun eating, the best laugh, fancy dress competitions, musical chairs, cross country races, slow movement cycling, tug of war, pillow-fighting, marathon races, balancing games, hurdle runs, eye spotting, pot smashing, cadjan-weaving, etc.
