Nestlé Lanka (Pvt) Limited in response to a request, made by 521 and 522 Brigades serving 52 Division in Jaffna, offered 2052 packets of milk powder among 684 needy families with kids in the age range of 1 – 3 years.
Simple arrangements at Point Pedro Methodist Girls’ High School and Warani Maha Vidyalaya last week saw each of those families, 431 from 522 Brigade area and 253 from 521 Brigade area, receive three milk powder packets from Mr Kasun Kankanamge, Sales Executive, Nestlé Lanka (Pvt) Limited.
Lieutenant Colonel D.M.T.B. Dissanayake, 521 Brigade Commander attended the occasion at point Pedro as Chief Guest at the invitation of civil affairs coordinating office. Lieutenant Colonel P.S. Buddadasa, 521 Brigade Civil Affairs Coordinating Officer and several officers took part in the arrangement together with civilians.
The event at Warani Maha Vidyalaya was graced by the Brigade Commander 522 Brigade Brigadier KMDAA De Silva as Chief Guest accompanied by Civil Affairs Officer 522 Brigade Lieutenant Colonel LBDHS Lakshman, several Commanding Officers of the area, Principal of Warani Maha Vidyalaya and other distinguished guests.
