643 Brigade Headquarters at Mutiyankaddukulam under Security Forces Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ–MLT) with the express objective of helping the sick in the area recently organized a large mobile medical camp in Oddusuddan-Karippattamurippu Tamil Mixed School and treated more than 385 patients.
A joint group of 10 medical officers, one dentist and an eye surgeon from Gampola, Mullaittivu and Vavuniya hospitals provided medical consultations and medicine to those patients during the clinic.
In addition, a team from SLSPO institute, engaged in the production of artificial limbs participated in the project with a view to assessing the need for artificial limbs for civilians, sustained injuries and became disable during the war.
The arrangement, initiated by Colonel K.D.C.G.J Tillakaratne, 643 Brigade Commander, was supported by troops of 17 Sri Lanka Artillery, 30 Sri Lanka National Guard and 31 Sri Lanka National Guard serving the area under the 643 Brigade Headquarters.
