A team of foreign Defence Advisors and Military Attachés-based in Sri Lanka toured Jaffna for two days beginning on Tuesday (22).
The visiting delegation comprising Defence Advisor of the Bangladesh High Commission Commodore Mudasser Nasir, Military Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Lieutenant Colonel Khorram Lajevardi, Military, Air and Naval Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation Captain (Navy) Igore Pavlov and Assistant Military, Air and Naval Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation Lieutenant Colonel Yury A Drozdov during the tour, met the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe and several senior Army officers at Palaly with a view to receiving an update on current projects.
They also received a briefing on the present security situation in Jaffna and a comprehensive account of rehabilitation, re-integration, resettlement, reconciliation and reconstruction programmes.
