The 12 Division Headquarters at Hambantota recently launched a blood donation campaign at its headquarters premises for the benefit of patients at Hambantota hospitals.
On the same day, 12 Division troops visited Weeravila Children’s orphanage and gifted them with exercise books, stationery, educational items, etc with the patronage received from the Lions Club at Talangama.
Over 200 troops volunteered to offer blood on the occasion, organized under the instructions of Brigadier D.S.N.K Senadheera, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division. Hambantota Hospital Medical Officers and nursing staff along with minor staff assisted the project.
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army during his recent visit to the 12 Division Headquarters opening encouraged the troops to pursue community oriented projects as many as possible.
