Commander Opens New FMA Headquarters Building in Mullaitivu

The newly constructed headquarters building at the Forward Maintenance Area (FMA), Mullaitivu was declared open by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya this afternoon (25).

Commander Security Forces Mullaitivu Major General L B R Mark warmly received the Commander of the Army at Security Forces Headquarters (SF HQ - MLT) and conducted him to the FMA. As Lieutenant General Jayasuriya entered the FMA headquarters complex, the soldiers on guard accorded him a Guard Turnout in keeping with military traditions, which he acknowledged while driving past.

At the FMA office complex, the FMA commander welcomed the Commander of the Army, accompanied by Major General Mark and conducted him to the entrance of the new building. Thereafter, Lieutenant General Jayasuriya unveiled a symbolic plaque and declared opened the new office.

He also planted a tree sapling in the FMA premises to mark the event. The Commander of the Army who posed for a group photograph with the staff at the FMA office did not forget to share a couple of thoughts with the soldiers who had gathered there before leaving Mullaitivu.
