VIJAYABAHU Infantry Regiment (VIR) Seva Vanitha Unit in coordination with Denzil Kobbekaduwa Foundation donated a newly-built house to the War Hero, Private Weerasuriya of 4 VIR who lost both his legs below the knees while valiantly fighting in the final battle against terrorists in the Wanni Humanitarian Operations.
The new house in Wattegama, Kandy was handed over to the disable War Hero at a ceremony, held recently by Mrs Laly Kobbekaduwa, President, Denzil Kobbekaduwa Foundation.
Governor for Central Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Director General, Directorate of Rehabilitation Major General A.D.G.A Jayawardana, Commander, 11 Division Major General A.M Perera, Brigadier K.C Gunawardene, VIR Regimental Center Commandant Lieutenant Colonel W.S Ariyasinghe, members of the VIR Seva Vanitha Unit and several Senior Army Officers of the Army were present on the occasion.
