Giving a helping hand towards further promotion of teaching skills of aesthetic subjects to school students in Mannar District, troops attached to the 54 Division organized an eight-day long workshop at the Mannar Zonal Department of Education premises.
The internationally-renowned actress, Mrs Anoja Weerasinghe with members of her ‘Abhina’ academy, contributed to the workshop covering areas of training such as drama, acting, music and mime, aesthetic values, etc.
The eight-day long workshop was inaugurated on Monday (23) during a brief ceremony, attended by Zonal Director of Education, Mr L. Rewel, Deputy Directress for Development of Education, Ms Rajini Aroginathan and several other state officials.
Brigadier M.A.M. Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division who took the initiative in this connection was invited to be the Chief Guest during the inauguration of the workshop.
