Welikanda People Educated on COVID-19 & Wearing of Face Masks

A large stock of face masks were distributed among civilians and community leaders in the general area of Welikanda on Thursday (22) following an initiative taken by the 231 Brigade in an effort to underline the importance of its use as a precautionary measure.

Troops initiated the awareness programme and the distribution of those face masks as a community project along with the spread of COVID-19 in the region.

4 Gemunu Watch (GW) and 11 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops under the guidance of Colonel Prageeth Gamage, 231 Brigade Commander took part in the project that covered largely-populated areas.

Police, Association of Mobilizing Community Resources, Lions Club and civil authorities gave their support for the success of the programme.

In addition, a large stock of face masks were provided free of charge to the civilians while educating them on the importance of wearing face masks.

The project was supervised by Major General Chinthaka Gamage, Commander Security Forces- East and Major General Dhammika Jayasundara, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division to be in line with the Army HQ-initiated health safety guidelines. bridgemedia | nike air force 1 shadow , eBay
