Wanni Troops Vest 6th Pre-School Complex with Kids in the Area

Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) in its ongoing landmark project, aimed at constructing much-needed pre-school buildings in the Wanni region with the support of the government and the private sector, completed the construction of its 6th pre-school complex in Mahakachchikodiya and vested it with kids on Saturday (20).

Following a conceptual notion of Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni (SF-W), the SFHQ-W during the past ten months succeeded in erecting five such pre-schools in the Wanni region for the benefit of kids living in far remote areas. The initiative received a tremendous backup from the Hemas Outreach Foundation (HOF) under its ‘Piyawara’ CSR project with the intervention of Mrs Shiromi Masakorala of HOF.

The 6th new pre-school complex cost philanthropists, Mr Anslem Sunil Malawana, Mrs Ethel Diana Cecilia Malawana and the HOF about Rs 2.3m at the request of the HOF and the Wanni Commander.

This state-of-the-art new pre-school complex houses a playground, sanitary facilities, spacious hall and all other amenities, vital for development of pre-school kids.

As a continuation of their CSR project, Hemas Outreach Foundation invited the philanthropist, Mr Anslem Sunil Malawana to fund this preschool on a request made by Vavuniya South Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary Mr M.S Janaka.

Construction of the pre-school was undertaken by Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division and it was completed within a short period of time. Troops of 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the 563 Brigade constructed this pre-school on the directions of Brigade Commander, Colonel E.A.D.P Edirisinghe. With this pre-school, Security Forces - Wanni have constructed 6 pre-schools for the benefit of future generations in the Wanni area.

Divisional Secretary for Vavuniya, General Officer Commanding of 56 Division Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya, Principal Staff Officers of the SFHQ-W, many Senior Officers, Students and Parents too were present during the opening ceremony of the newly-constructed pre-school.bridgemedia | Archives des Sneakers
