Wanni Commander Makes Official Visits to Under Command Formations

The recently-appointed Commander Security Forces - Wanni Major General Hemantha Bandara visited the 62 Division and its under Command Brigades and Battalions during 25-26 January in Padavi Sri Pura areas.

On the first day, the visiting Commander was honoured in a Guard Turnout at the 62 Division Headquarters and invited to plant a sapling at the Division premises by the General Officer Commanding, of the 62 Division Brigadier Deepal Pussella.

Thereafter a briefing on role & tasks of the 62 Division was done by the GOC followed by a formal troop address. Afterwards, he made a field visit to the Headquarters of the 621 Brigade and the 622 Brigade and was invited to plant a sapling in the camp premises by the Brigade Commander. Thereafter, he visited 9 Gajaba Regiment, 14 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the Battalion Training School at Kalyanapura. On his way after the field visit, the Commander Security Forces - Wanni visited the Army Farm at Sinhapura.

On the second day (26), the visiting Commander was honoured in a Guard Turnout at 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment Headquarters. After the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni visited the Headquarters 623 Brigade, he paid visits to 11 Regiment Gemunu Watch and viewed the Yanoya Project and paid homage to the Viharahalmillewa temple where some construction work was on.
