212 Brigade troops of the Security Force HQ-Wanni, making further headway in their ongoing house construction project for needy civilians in the Wanni completed one more new home for a needy family in Thupitiyawa,Tanthirimale and vested it in the beneficiaries on Friday (08) during a simple cremony.
Philanthropists, Mr Hemantha Wijewardena and Mrs Poorna through the coordination done by Brigadier Anil Peiris, Commander, 212 Brigade sponsored the project which was opened by the Commander, Security Forces-Wanni, Major General Priyantha Perera.
After the poor family of Mr P. B Sugath Lal Premasiri with his three children was brought to the notice of the SFHQ-Wanni, efforts were made by the 212 Brigade a few months ago to help them after contacting those donors for help.
Construction of the new house was undertaken by 5 Sri Lanka National Guard of the 212 Brigade under the guidelines given by the Wanni Commander under the supervision of Major General Vikum Liyanage. General Officer Commanding - 21 Division. This is the 23rd house which built and donated by the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni.
