Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops at the Regimental Centre promptly attended to the repairs of the road patch, adjoining the Baththalgoda Lake in Periyakadunelawa, Ibbagamuwa after it was affected due to a minor landslide following heavy rainfalls on 19 October 2022.
The affected road patch obstructed the movement of vehicles and threatened nearby houses, but the troops immediately patched up the affected section by placing sandbags before road authorities were informed of the road damage.
A group of about 20 VIR troops, attached to the VIR Regimental Center with Officers attended to the emergency repairs and enabled vehicular traffic to resume movement.
