50 school children residing in the Periyapandivirichchan (east) Grama Seva sector in 611 Brigade area under 61 Division Headquarters in Mannar, recently received gift parcels of exercise books and stationery, organized by Brigadier A Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division.
Those uniform-clad students of Vilathikulam Tamil School after assembling at the school’s main hall accepted those gift parcels, donated jointly by Mr. Nazali Mohideen, General Manager, Habarana Lodge Hotel, Mr. Rodrigo and Ms. Savithra Rodrigo, two other social service workers.
On behalf of the donors, Brigadier A Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, together with Brigadier K.G.D Perera, 611 Brigade Commander, 61 Division Civil Affairs Coordinator and 22 Gemunu Watch Commanding Officer gave away those gift parcels to the students.
Principal and a few teachers were present at the time of distribution of those gift parcels.
