A recent religious ceremony, organized by Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities in Vavuniya invoked blessings on the country, following initiatives taken by Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni.
Major General (Retd) G.A Chandrasiri, Governor for Northern Province, Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni, Brigadier N.A.P.C Napagoda, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division, together with civilians of all ethnicities, took part in the observances at Vavuniya Sri Bodhi Dakshinarama Temple after conduct of a ‘Peace Walk’ which began from the public grounds at Vavuniya Municipal grounds.
During the observances, all those gathered meditated and prayed the country be freed from external atrocities and machinations as early as possible.
