Three hundred and eighty new recruits, belonging to Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA), Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), Gajaba Regiment (GR) and Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) regiments who underwent training at the Valamandiya Battalion Training School passed out on Wednesday (24) during a formal Passing out Parade (PoP).
Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander, Security Forces - East as the Chief Guest graced the formal ceremony and received the salute.
Private R.P.P Rathnayake received the trophy for the Best Shooter and the award for the Fittest Recruit was clinched by Private K.R.M Gunarathna. Private K.G.A.S Lakshan was nominated as the Best Recruit after he achieved the highest aggregate marks during the training.
