US ambassador in Sri Lanka Ms. Patricia Butenis who was on a brief visit to Jaffna met Commander Security Forces, Jaffna (SF – J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe on Tuesday (8) at SF-J Headquarters.
Ms. Butenis was briefed on the Army assistance being given to the government’s ongoing development projects in the peninsula by Major General M Hathurusinghe.
The visiting US diplomat was also briefed on the de-mining process going on in some areas to expedite resettlement.
Brigadier General Staff SF-J Brig. B.C.J.A.F. Rodrigo and Ms Sina F. Naroagotatao of the US embassy also took part in the discussion.
