Two More Foreigners Confirmed Positive-NOCPCO

As of this morning (1), a total of 597 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, were three Sri Lankan expatriates and two foreigners visiting here. Other 592 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 256 from Colombo district, 63 from Batticaloa district, 62 from Gampaha district and other 211 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (1), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 39,549. Meanwhile, 32,571 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (1), a total of 43,238 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 35, 328 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,766 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (1), 706 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 05 more deaths have been reported from Dharga Town, Galewela, Pelmadulla, Colombo 5 and Homagama areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 204 by this morning (1).

By this morning (1), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 30 passengers, the flight Q2 6994 from the Maldives with 35 passengers and the flight UL 605 from Australia with 290 passengers have arrived. They all were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
