Troops Provide Transport Facility to Devotees Attending Church Opening

In response to a request made by the clergy at St Anthony’s Church at Iraneipakulam, 653 Brigade troops of the 65 Division provided transport facilities to the devotees attending the consecration ceremony of the new Tachchanamaradamadhu Church at Iraneipakulam on Sunday (20).

Devotees who arrived at St Anthony’s Church premises were thus facilitated providing two Army buses at the request of the Church hierarchy. The General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division, Major General Anil Samarasiri and the Brigade Commander of the 653 Brigade, Colonel Namal Serasinghe accordingly instructed the troops to provide the required transport facilities to the devotees, planning to attend the inaugural ceremony of the newly-constructed Church in Iraneipakulam.

One Officer along with 06 Other Ranks of the 653 Brigade took care of those devotees during the transport facility provided to them.
